Daisy Whitaker, CMD, joined the department as a medical dosimetrist in 1992. She graduated from East Carolina University's Medical Dosimetry program in 1991 and received her certification from the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board the same year. She worked at Orlando Regional Cancer Center as a medical dosimetrist her first year out of school before relocating back to her home town of Atlanta to join Emory. In 2004, she was promoted to Chief Dosimetrist and manages the dosimetry staff at Emory's main campus, Midtown, the VA and Saint Joseph's. She remains active in daily treatment planning and also assists in teaching Emory's physician and physics residents as well as the Georgia Tech medical physics students. Daisy enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, cooking and reading.
