Samantha "Sammie" Hedrick, PhD, MS, DABR, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. An ABR board certified medical physicist, Dr. Hedrick joined the team at the Emory Proton Therapy Center in 2018. Prior to joining Emory, she worked at the Provision Center for Proton Therapy in Knoxville, Tennessee for three years, specializing in pencil beam scanning proton therapy treatment planning and quality assurance.

She received her B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and received her M.S. and PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Missouri. She then completed a two year CAMPEP accredited residency at Washington University in St. Louis.

She enjoys teaching physics to students and residents and educating the public about the advantages of proton therapy. She also enjoys baking, expressing her creative side through sugar, chocolate, and fondant.
