Biography

Sara Rahnema, MS, DABR, joined the Emory staff in 2012 as a clinical medical physicist at Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2008 and a Masters of Science degree in Medical Physics also from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2010.

Sara is board certified in Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology. She is an active member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Brachytherapy Society and the Leksell Gamma Knife Society. She is active in all areas of radiation oncology with a special interest in brachytherapy and Gamma Knife treatments. She is also a part of the teaching programs for MD and medical physics residents as well as the Georgia Tech medical physics students.
